Based on the passages, the GMO should be used on foods. It has been used to on foods for some time now. Studies show that it can be consumed by humans but it can contaminate other foods. I think that genetically modified organisms should be consumed by whoever feels safe with taking them in. The crops are being protected by the chemicals being used.

Chapter 7

   Once we got back to the house everything was slow. It was little to no conversation. I just sat in the room wondering why Gatsby took the blame for hitting Myrtle. He told Nick that he was behind the wheel when it was really me. That showed how much he truly cares for me. I wondered if Myrtle was okay, or if she even knew who was in the car. I kept having flashbacks to the accident. I was driving down the road and I saw a figure crossing the street. Then BOOM! I didn't even look back. Without any hesitation I just continued to drive. Gatsby was yelling out something but I didn't know what was going on. I couldn't focus enough to stop and listen to him. Gatsby really showed how genuine he is about me. I can honestly say that the feelings are more than what they were. He didn't have to take the blame or explain to Nick what happened. This showed me that he really did care and he was sincere with his protection of me. I just imagined how different things would've been, had it been Tom in the car, I probably would've came out injured as well. I was glad that nobody was really asking questions about Myrtles condition. I feel bad for just fleeing afterwards, but I couldn't fathom what it would've been like if I stopped. I'm thankful Gatsby was there with and for me throughout this whole accident. 

Gatsby questions

1.Jay Gatsby real name is James Gatz. Gatsby changed his life and also his name after meeting a guy named Dan. Dan showed him how to live without the alcohol. Gatsby was supposed to get Dans money when he died but the widowed wife made sure that didn't happen. Gatsby didn't like living a poor lifestyle so he changed his life. 

2.The more recent things we've learned about Gatsby changed the way people viewed him, or the rumors they made up and passed on, because he was too busy looking Over Dan. This also takes away the rumor of him being not only a spy, but a murderer as well.

3.James was poor and not well known and jay was a rich, successful, business man. 

4. Tom's new attitude towards Gatsby  comes from him messing around Daisy. He also doesn't like the fact that he doesn't know where Gatsby is gaining his inheritance of money from. Gatsby also starts acting differently towards Tom.

Questions

1. The Valley of Ashes was described as a piece of land that was very desolated. It was a place where ashes were "dumped". The Valley symbolized a list of hope of the people who lived around it. It also was a meeting point for the city and suburbs. TJ Eckleberg was the eye doctor.

2. Wilson is a very deceptive person. He is a mechanic who is oblivious to everything going on around him. He doesn't know that his wife is going to the city to be with tom. Nick doesn't like the fact that Tom has a married mistress. Tom is very rude to Wilson. I agree with Nick about the "couple" but then again Nick really can't have a say because he isn't in the relationship.

3. As far as the dogs significance in the story, she is used to symbolize Toms abbrupt behavior. The dog is used to explain how Tom and Myrtles relationship is.

The Great Gatsby

    Chapter one was an introduction to the characters and their lifestyles. So far, we found out that Nick, Daisy, and Tom were rich because of their family and that Gatsby was a hard working man. Everyone we encountered so far are alcoholics but back in their time, those were normal actions. Nick is the narrator of the story, he plays his role well as he brings us through events that the they are going through. I don't understand why they allow Tom to drink, constantly, knowing that he is so abusive. Also, what caused their relationship to remain as it is after leaving New Haven. It was a little strange when Nick ran into Gatsby. I was confused as to why he was standing on the dock in a daze. I think that throughout the book, either Tom will stop putting his hands on his wife or she will leave him. Also, all of the characters will stop drinking as much as they did when we were first introduced to them. I think that Nick will further deepen the description of Jordan and who he is. I don't understand why Gatsby is just standing on the dock. I think that Nick will talk to Gatsby. I do like that he is narrating the story because of the way he exaggerates what's going on.

    A hero to me isn't someone who just wears a cape, a hero can be anyone. A hero is someone who demonstrates leadership, honesty, courage, and integrity. Heroes sometime can be someone within your household or someone on the street. Heroes are people that are willing to risk something as serious as their life, perhaps, to help save you. Personally, my grandmother is my hero because she takes care of me and raised me to know right from wrong.
